Recent reports suggest Chelsea plans to sell Christopher Nkunku during the following summer after concluding he will not be established as a permanent figure at Stamford Bridge.
Football Insider reports that Chelsea will make Nkunku available for transfer in the summer through an asking price that ranges from £60 to £70 million. This Premier League valuation has prevented potential buyers from making acquisitions in January.
The Chelsea future of Nkunku remains uncertain because of his persistent struggles to find a suitable playing position. The second-place goalscoring record in all competitions at Chelsea this season has not translated into steady first-team appearances for him under manager Enzo Maresca.
After starting discussions about his starting position for Nicolas Jackson’s spot the Frenchman now serves as backup player for the No.10 role. Following Jackson’s injury, Maresca decided to field Marc Guiu in the role he once gave to Joao Felix, which indicates Nkunku could be used in a similar attacking position.
Christopher Nkunku Is Having A Difficult Time At Chelsea
The team hierarchy positions Cole Palmer above him for the central attacking role even if he was to fill this position.
Players expected Nkunku to move into the vacated starting position when Felix departed for AC Milan but the opportunities have failed to materialize according to expectations.
The restricted playing minutes at Chelsea and unclear playing opportunities have turned Nkunku into a strong potential sale candidate for the Stamford Bridge club.
Manchester United, along with other clubs, expressed interest in acquiring Nkunku in January,y, but they could not negotiate a price that Chelsea accepted. Nkunku refused the loan possibility that clubs were offering and demanded a permanent transfer.
By having elevated budget possibilities during summer transfers Manchester United could enhance their chances to finalize a deal for the player. All signs indicate that Nkunku will move away from Chelsea to pursue playing opportunities elsewhere.
