There has been speculation that Liverpool are interested in signing Leroy Sane in 2025, but the Bayern Munich winger prefers a move to Barcelona.
Sane has been a key player for Bayern Munich since his transfer from Manchester City to Bayern Munich for £43.7 million in 2020, But now, with his contract in its last six months rumours about his future abound. Bayern have been keen to tie the 28-year-old down to fresh terms but no agreement has been signed yet.
Even as Liverpool is said to be in the pipeline to sign the player, CaughtOffside states that Sané prefers a switch to the Spanish La Liga side Barcelona.
Leroy Sane, according to Mundo Deportivo, wants to join the Catalan giants next summer. This preference also fits Sané’s desire to play at the top level, and a new challenge in Spain might be what he has in mind.
Leroy Sane Prefers Barcelona To Liverpool
Liverpool could have been interested in Sané since his potential availability of the Egyptian star, Salah was also uncertain initially.
But according to the latest news reported by The Mirror, Salah is now finalizing his new long-term contract to keep him at Anfield more than this current season. When Salah plays with certainty on the right wing, the search for a star like Sané is not very important.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot, on the other hand, had the opportunity to transfer the Egyptian forward earlier in the window.
However, he is focused on developing an in-house player, to eventually take over Salah’s role. By adopting this strategy, he aimed to cultivate a talented winger who could step in for the Egyptian as his successor in the future.
Sane is still an active person and a rather successful Premier League performer as well, but he has stated his preference for Barcelona, and Liverpool’s solidity on the wings now appears to be an issue that would prevent him from joining the team.
Understandably, the scale of transfers for Liverpool this summer might not be as significant as in the past. Change can be challenging, and it’s natural for fans to have mixed feelings about it.
