According to a popular newspaper, Liverpool is currently favourites to secure Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane if the German forward join the free agency in the summer of 2025.
The newspaper claimed that Liverpool is now at the front line of signing Leroy Sane, with the other elite clubs also keeping tabs on the talented footballer. It may be a major boost for Liverpool with Manager Arne Slot’s plans on changing the attacking options in the near future.
Since he joined Bayern Munich from Manchester City in the summer of 2020, Leroy Sane has had an on-and-off season. The 28-year-old winger, who established himself at FC Schalke 04 and then joined Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, produces less at Bayern.
Sané scored 51 goals and created 50 more in almost 200 games for Bayern but he is still not a guaranteed first-choice player for the Bavarian giants. His stay at Bayern has not been clear since he is still under the contract, and he’ll be done in seven months.
Liverpool Is planning Replacing Salah with Leroy Sane
Liverpool’s interest emerges now that they consider life without Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian star is also in the same boat concerning contracts; people start to wonder what exactly is next for him. In pursuit of Sané, Liverpool could sign a top, established Premier League talent capable of delivering at Anfield under Jürgen Klopp’s system at Liverpool.
The intended prospect of Sané joining the Liverpool team would not only strengthen Liverpool’s attacks but also serve a crystal clear indicator of the long-term visions the team has.
As much as Bayern is said to be interested in keeping Sané, they encounter some difficulties of fulfilling his wage demands. In case negotiations cease, Liverpool could gain a lot in signing the winger on a free transfer; a very valuable chance for the Reds to bolster their side without having to spend much on a transfer.
Sané’s EPL return would of course be the narrative to keep an eye out for, and Liverpool seem like the team most capable of making it a reality.
