Joshua Zirkzee Transfer News

West Ham United and Everton are both keeping close tabs on Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee ahead of the January transfer window, with both clubs reportedly exploring potential moves for the Dutch striker.

Under new manager Nuno Espírito Santo, West Ham’s recruitment team has been actively scouting for long-term attacking options to build a more balanced and potent front line.

Everton, meanwhile, remain desperate for a consistent source of goals after another difficult start to the season.

According to former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson, Manchester United could receive around £30 million for Zirkzee, a valuation that has made him an attainable target for both Premier League clubs.

Borson told Football Insider that United spent between £30m and £40m to bring him in, meaning the Red Devils would be willing to consider a similar fee if a buyer emerges.

Borson added that Zirkzee’s wages are relatively modest by Premier League standards, which makes him an attractive option for mid-table clubs looking for a striker with Premier League and European experience.

“He’s a very sellable player,” Borson said. “They didn’t pay £60–70m for him. They paid between £30–40m. His wages are manageable, and he’s not been a complete disaster. I think there are signs that he could be worth £30m to somebody. The sorts of teams that could afford that or arrange a loan-to-buy deal are Everton and West Ham.”

Joshua Zirkzee Future and West Ham’s Transfer Ambitions

Zirkzee’s situation at Old Trafford has been uncertain since the summer. Despite flashes of promise, he has struggled for consistent minutes, and with Manchester United pursuing other attacking targets such as Mateo Retegui, the Dutchman may be allowed to leave.

West Ham are exploring several forward options ahead of January. Alongside Zirkzee, they have been linked with Ivan Toney and are reportedly weighing up a cash-plus-player offer involving Luis Guilherme for Barcelona’s Vitor Roque.

The club’s intent to secure a reliable goalscorer before the second half of the season reflects Nuno’s determination to strengthen his squad after mixed early result.
