Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford future at Manchester United is still unknown as the board and the head coach, Ruben Amorim, are to decide together if the forward will continue playing for the club or if it is time for him to go in January.

There have been rumours of him leaving the Club since he was relegated to the bench in the last four matches due to Amorim’s management of the United team.

Amorim has been straightforward in his position and only uses the merit of the performance of a player in training sessions as the basis for team formation; he has never been forced to play big names into the team by the board.

This is why Rashford, Garnacho and Malacia, among others, have found themselves on the bench in some of the games. The manager is creating a pattern for the benchmark he wants, comparable to his tenure at Sporting CP, in which he demoted Islam Slimani to the bench in 2022.

Many discussions were on Rashford after his surprise inclusion in the United’s team to face Newcastle. Whether he plays or not, however, could indicate that Amorim foresees a role at Old Trafford for the forward.

On the other hand, if he is benched or is not on the squad list, it could suggest that he is on his way out in January.

Using Rashford also raises the risk of a recurring injury, which is always a consideration when a team is looking to acquire a striker estimated to cost over £40 million.

Marcus Rashford High Wages Might Be A Problem

Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford is currently earning £325,000 ($353,000) a week, and his contract runs until 2028; he is precisely someone whose demands drastically limit the number of potential suitors.

It is believed that a loan with a must-buy clause seems more plausible, and Manchester United might cover some of his wage bills in the process, as Sterling did when joining Arsenal from Chelsea. But, till now, no formal steps have been taken in this regard.

Paris Saint-Germain has been mentioned as a potential suitor for Rashford, but the Ligue 1 side seems to be more of a stalking horse than an active suitor.

Further, Rashford’s next step depends solely on Amorim’s demands during training and if any clubs would lure the Englishman with an interesting offer.

There is no doubt that Rashford will be one of the most significant transfer sagas come January as alluring will be to look forward to seeing if he can return to form or get a new challenge.
