Tyrell Malacia Transfer News

Recent reports show that Benfica abandoned their pursuit of Tyrell Malacia on loan from Manchester United because they lacked the finances to satisfy the English squad’s terms.

The Dutch full-back faced limited playing time this season since his manager Ruben Amorim recently introduced him in just eight games but he was expected to execute the move to Benfica by the 11pm deadline on Monday.

Malacia had provided Benfica with his approval to join the team temporarily yet the clubs appeared close to reaching a deal in negotiations.

Journalist Dharmesh Sheth revealed that Benfica made an unsatisfactory financial bid which caused United to end their proposed transfer agreement.

Tyrell Malacia Hopes TO Resolve His Future Soon

Ben Jacobs observed Malacia starting to express his farewells to his fellow Old Trafford teammates because he wanted so badly to join Benfica.

The transfer window is ending in two days which makes it challenging for Benfica to regain interest in the defender currently on offer.

Benfica must quickly present an improved loan offer to keep pursuing their interest in acquiring Malacia. The long-term situation for Malacia at left-back is doubtful because UEFA Champions League teams are showing interest in signing him.

The clubs interested in the Dutch defender remain unidentified since they might belong to the Premier League or European unions beyond those boundaries.

Manchester United faces an important time with their deal collapse since the club will face upcoming domestic and European matches in their agenda.

Due to Luke Shaw’s persistent fitness concerns, United has signed Patrick Dorgu from Lecce, who underwent medical tests on Saturday, thus moving Malacia down the alternate player ranking.

The left-back established his United career after Feyenoord transferred him for £12.5 million in 2022 but his 47 appearances remain goalless during his two-and-a-half-year stint with the team.

Since his injury, Malacia has participated in only nine games this season, where he spent a total of 99 minutes playing in the Premier League.

The Dutch defender Malacia will likely start from the bench during United’s Premier League match against Crystal Palace tomorrow. It remains uncertain if Ronald Araujo will pursue a new club or fill the rotational role needed by Amorim in the squad.
