Raphinha Admits He Considered Leaving Barcelona Several Times In His First Two Seasons At The Club

Fresh from the back of thrashing Spanish giants Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeau in yesterday’s El clasico meeting of the two Spanish giants, Barcelona came out victorious with a 0-4 beating of Real Madrid.

Barcelona winger Raphinha who was also on the score sheet alongside Robert Lewandowski and sixteen years old Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal, has said that he contemplated leaving Barcelona in his first season with the blaugrana.

The 27 years old Brazilian player moved to Barcelona in 2022 from Leeds united and struggled to adapt to his new playing environment, which hampered his performances and also injury problems where part of his challenges in first two years in Barcelona.

Raphinha told ESPN that he considered moving on from Barcelona due to the pressure from fans and from rumours about Barcelona wanting to sell him off.

Barcelona has brought in a new coach in Hansi Flick, and the German coach has turn things around at the club including the form of Raphinha who is currently on nine goals and nine assists in thirteen appearances in all competitions.

Raphinha scored a hat trick in the champions league fixture against German giants Bayern Munich on Wednesday, which is further prove of how much he has improved in form under Hansi Flick this season.
