Manchester United have reportedly granted Napoli permission to finalise the permanent signing of Rasmus Hojlund in January, according to The Mirror.
The Danish striker joined the Serie A champions on a season-long loan last summer and has impressed enough for the club to trigger their £38 million purchase option ahead of schedule.
Talks between both clubs are said to be at an advanced stage. Napoli boss Antonio Conte has been “impressed” by Hojlund’s form, with the forward scoring four goals in six appearances before suffering a minor injury setback.
His confidence and sharp finishing have convinced the Italian side to move quickly and make the transfer permanent.
United open to quick sale
For Manchester United, the deal represents a clean and strategic move. The club’s hierarchy reportedly want to complete negotiations early to avoid the prolonged sagas that have disrupted previous windows.

Hojlund’s loan spell has benefited both sides, but United are now focused on a new attacking direction under Rubén Amorim.
The arrival of Benjamin Sesko for £66.3 million in the summer signalled United’s intent to refresh their forward line. With Hojlund said to be “loving life on the Amalfi coast” and showing no desire to return to England, all parties are aligned on the sale.
Should the transfer be confirmed in January, United would recoup a large portion of the £72 million they initially paid Atalanta in 2023 while freeing up wages and squad space for future reinforcements.
