Mohamed Salah Future Decided: Liverpool’s Star Forward Set To Sign New Contract

As expected, Mohamed Salah looks ready to pen a new deal with Liverpool, with the Egyptian king and the club owners at Fenway Sports Group (FSG) coming to an agreement on the contract structure.

Salah’s current contract, along with that of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, is due to expire in the summer of the following year. It would have been disastrous for the Reds to lose any of these players with no replacement and Salah continues his long-term stability of the attacking force at Liverpool.

Salah continues to be the integral part of Liverpool’s attack, netting 13 goals, the same as Erling Haaland in the Premier League and assisting eight goals, the second in the division to Bukayo Saka.

He has been instrumental in Liverpool’s good domestic and European season this campaign. By transfer news source The Mirror, the two parties have agreed a two-year contract extension that will see Salah remain at Anfield till 2027 summer.

Sources indicated that while there have been enmity over contract conditions, there was lot at stake over contract period. Salah first wanted more than three years, while FSG was only willing to give him one year at most.

However, he sustained the form and remained instrumental on the pitch for the club that a compromise was made.

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah, 33, will also stay at the club until at least 2026 with an extension of his previous contract which let’s him turn 35 when this new contract expires.

One reason for this choice is his desire to become a holder of the Ballon d’Or which has not happened, but Salah plays for Liverpool. When talking to TEAMtalk, the transfer guru Rudy Galetti commented on the fact that Salah wants to make him an example of those players that play for one of the best clubs in Europe.

With Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo probably past their best, the race for football’s most prestigious individual honor is getting wide open and Salah sees Liverpool’s continuing dominance as the best avenue for realizing his dreams.

Liverpool is one of the top teams at the moment hence strengthening the optimism of Salah. The club is now at first place on the Premier League and has been impeccable in their Champions League group stage matches.
