Marcus Rashford

Manchester United have been linked with a summer sale of Marcus Rashford, but it may not be easy to find a buyer for the England striker .

Marcus Rashford’s future at Old Trafford has been cast in further doubt by United’s decision to leave him out of the team that faced the Manchester derby recently.

Manager Ruben Amorim has since come out to affirm that both Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho will get a shot at playing more games, but rumours only persist, especially concerning Rashford’s future at Manchester United.

As reported in The Guardian, Manchester United are ready to sell Rashford in the January transfer window. However, the practicality of such a move is considerably more complicated by the forward’s wages, as well as his contract length.

PSG Is No Longer Interested In Marcus Rashford

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford was previously expected to join Paris Saint-Germain in the past. The French giants had been mentioned before with interest in halfway through the £75 million move in 2024 due to the anticipated loss of Kylian Mbappe.

This interest, according to a report, started as early as February 2022 when Rashford’s entourage had talks with PSG before he penned down a new deal with United.

But transfer insider Graeme Bailey has now claimed that PSG have lost interest in Rashford and United is left with few choices.

The main problem for Manchester United is that the addition of Rashford comes with a high-priced tag. Rashford, currently 27 years old and under contract until the summer of 2028, is one of the club’s highest-paid players.

Any prospective club would have to sign for not only a huge figure as transfer fees but also in a package that matches his worth.

Another could be the Saudi Pro League football which has become a good shopping center for many prominent players. But this seems unlikely given the media’s belief that Rashford has no desire to move to the Middle East at this period of his career.

United now face a dilemma. Although selling Rashford could attract big money, his contract status and wage demands may be the setting back of some clubs. This is a position that requires early resolution as much for the player as for the entire football club.
