Omar Marmoush Transfer News

Manchester City are set to step up the negotiations to sign Omar Marmoush of Eintracht Frankfurt, for £50 million and a young Lens player, Abdukodir Khusanov, for £35 million.

Marmoush plays for the Egyptian national football team, and he had been impressive in this twist of the season as he pulled 18 goals for his team on average in 24 matches, and he was desperate to play for the Premier League champions.

The publication that first broke City’s interest in Marmoush was Mail Sport in December last year. In recent months, Liverpool and Arsenal have tracked the 25-year-old attacking talent, but neither has made a concrete bid.

Frankfurt is now occupying the third place in the German Bundesliga and dreaming of the Champions League spot – so the club is not keen on letting the squad’s key performer leave this season.

But, City agreeing to this valuation could put pressure on the German club to complete the deal.

Man City Aims To Sign Omar Marmoush And Two Others

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is planning to bring up to three players in the January transfer window to strengthen his squad after a trying football season.

Man City lost their anchor man Rodri to injury, which pointed to a poor run of a team getting only one win in their last 13 matches before coming back strongly to win the two matches in the festive season.

Apart from Marmoush, City are reportedly in the market for a new defender. Negotiations are still on for Uzbekistan kid-born pocket, Abdukodir Khusanov of Lens, and Juam Bah of AIK Freetong.

The club is also in the race with Brighton for Palmeiras teenage centre back centre-back Vitor Reis despite Brighton having bids of approximately £23m turned down.

Frankfurt last week dismissed any concrete approach by the City for Omar Marmoush but hints at informal developments and expectations of an agreement soon.

Marmoush’s spirit has the potential to be tragic for Frankfurt, hence ending the hope of featuring in the Champions League.

City are expected to be busy this month, while Guardiola wants to keep his main squad intact and reinforce main positions to boost for the title.

Omar Marmoush (13 goals) trails Harry Kane (14 goals) in the leading goalscorers in the Bundesliga, and he could prove the goal-scoring solution City needs.
