Liverpool are reportedly preparing a huge £69 million bid to sign Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.
Arne Slot is keen to add depth and dynamism to his midfield, with the French international emerging as a prime target for the January window.
Ryan Gravenberch has been the Reds’ first-choice defensive midfielder since last season, but with Wataru Endo out of favour and Alexis Mac Allister more comfortable in an advanced role, Liverpool’s balance in midfield has suffered.
Slot reportedly wants a stronger, more versatile presence at the base of midfield — and Camavinga fits that profile perfectly.
Eduardo Camavinga Situation at Madrid
Since joining Real Madrid from Rennes, Camavinga has been a key figure, but under new boss Xabi Alonso, his game time has decreased significantly.

The 22-year-old has started only once this season, prompting speculation about his future. While Madrid would prefer to keep him, a lucrative offer — coupled with the player’s desire for regular minutes — could change their stance.
Camavinga thrives in a double-pivot system but can also play box-to-box or even at left-back. His blend of defensive intelligence, ball-carrying strength, and technical skill makes him one of Europe’s most complete young midfielders.
For Liverpool, his signing would not only ease the pressure on Gravenberch but also elevate the team’s overall fluidity and intensity. However, the Reds will be wary of his past injury issues before committing to a record bid.
If the deal materialises, Camavinga could become the centrepiece of Slot’s evolving Liverpool midfield — one built on power, precision, and tactical balance.
