Chelsea could lure top talent in the January transfer window, especially after it has been learned that Juventus has offered forward Dusan Vlahovic to the London-based team.
Enzo Maresca would have a very difficult time managing the team because several first-team regulars will be unavailable for action, and there remains much speculation about Christopher Nkunku’s departure.
Currently, Bayern Munich is interested in Nkunku, who could help the Bavarian side strengthen its attack; thus, make Chelsea look for the same player if, indeed, the rumours come true.
The 6’4 striker, who was recently rumoured to be a target for Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham, is quite an exciting prospect.
Arsenal has also shown an interest, thus, the trend to create a rivalry for the signing of the Serbian forward. The Italian source, TEAMtalk, reports that Juventus is willing to let the 24-year-old leave this winter, so Chelsea gets a chance to boost their attack.
Will Dusan Vlahovic Sign For Chelsea?
In the current campaign, however, Vlahovic looks like a shadow of the vibrant striker he used to be, he has played 23 matches and has 12 goals so far this season, though he has scored fewer league goals than Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson, who has 9 goals in 20 matches.
In the past, the Serbian striker has consistently delivered impressive goal-scoring performances in Serie A. His arrival at Chelsea could provide the much-needed boost for the team’s offense.
However, if he is perceived as a player who has not significantly improved compared to Nicholas Jackson, it may raise doubts among some fans regarding his potential contributions.
Chelsea has even more problems because the list of sidelined players includes important performers.
The main issue is Wesley Fofana and Benoit Badiashile are injured, and thus, the small available options in defence; likewise, the domestic issue of Nkunku’s transfer might leave the club with a huge hole to fill in the attacking department.
But if Bayern Munich or any other big European team comes in for Nkunku, then Chelsea might just tread the signals to pursue a deal.
For Dusan Vlahovic to prosper in the Premier League the same way he did in Rome, he needs a great team in front of him, and more importantly, Maresca is still building a new team.
Chelsea’s future relies heavily on the January transfer window as it may determine their success in the second half of the season.
