Juventus and PSG Battle As Sandro Tonali Eyes Shock Newcastle Exit

The future of Sandro Tonali in Newcastle United has been brought to question again as rumour spreads for the upcoming January transfer window.

Speculations emerged that the Italian midfielder may be inching closer to a move out of the team, while 2025 may be the year in which the star is expected to be without a place at St. James’ Park.

Give Me Sport has identified that Tonali is open to leaving Newcastle, though, it seems more logical that he will be leaving in June and not in January.

Sandro Tonali signed with Newcastle from AC Milan in 2023 for €70 million for a 100 million five-year contract making him a Magpie until 2028. However, such performances have raised a stink over dissatisfaction between the club and Tonali over his adjustment to the Premier League.

Another big French outlet, La Gazzetta dello Sport, reported recently that Paris Saint-Germain might come back for Tonali, a player who can perfectly embody PSG’s plans for the future.

Local newspapers Corriere dello Sport and Sky Sports Switzerland suggest that Juventus are now the leading contender for Tonali’s signing.

Juventus manager Thiago Motta is allegedly interested in using Tonali as the key man in his midfield restructuring. Agnelli referred to Tonali as a ‘son’ and clearly stated his wish to take the player back to the Italian club after having started negotiations with the player’s agents.

Tonali was poor at Newcastle at times making the idea that he is perfect for Newcastle and Eddie Howe’s system questionable.

On the other hand, Juventus consider the Italian as a player capable of strengthening the team and fighting for the trophies both in the Domestic league and UEFA Champions League. And with PSG also keeping an eye on the situation, the struggle for Tonali can intensify as the window is approaching.

It is highly improbable that Newcastle will let go of such a crucial signing without proper compensation, but with Tonali eager for change, his leaving is inevitable. Wherever Sandro Tonali goes to Paris or Turin, the next transfer can change the course of his career.
