Frenkie de Jong

The Merseyside club are said to be interested in a move for Barca’s Frenkie de Jong as a replacement for Ryan Gravenberch, who has been closely monitored by Real Madrid.

According to reports from Fichajes, Liverpool sees De Jong as a perfect candidate to reinforce midfield and maintain competitiveness at the European level.

Ryan Gravenberch started to show his worth once he signed for Anfield and has become an important part of Liverpool’s midfield.

The performances have not escaped the radar, with Real Madrid rumoured to be keen on the Dutchman with a view of reinforcing their own ranks.

That is why in anticipation of Gravenberch’s possible departure, Liverpool is trying to find other options for strengthening its midfield.

Liverpool Is Very Keen On Frenkie De Jong

Renowned for his individual qualities such as excellent technical performance, commendable tactical mentality and great flexibility of the position in the field, De Jong is currently considered one of the best stars of midfielders in European countries.

We are sure that it would be valuable for manager Arne Slot, as the Liverpool team had the perfect start in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League in the current season, 6 games, 6 wins, 13 goals scored and 1 goal conceded.

However, the signing of De Jong has been rumored to be a very tough process in-between the two teams. But even now Barcelona is still in the red, the Catalan team has not become willing to let go of one of their key players.

De Jong has a contract with the Catalan team until 2026, and the player does not think about leaving the Camp Nou. This puts Liverpool in a dilemma which makes it questionable whether a deal will be feasible at all.

It would not only improve Liverpool’s midfield but also make the Premier League a more attractive league for more Dutch talent.

It could potentially affect the Netherlands national team as well as more of its players are successful playing in England’s premier division.
