Manchester United’s turbulent Premier League campaign has been marked by inconsistency and disappointments.
After 15 games, the Red Devils find themselves languishing eight points behind Manchester City, who currently occupy the final Champions League spot.
With six defeats already, pressure is mounting on new manager Ruben Amorim to turn things around.
The club’s hierarchy is reportedly prepared to back Amorim in the January transfer window with a modest budget, potentially bolstered by player sales.
One high-profile name who could be on his way out is Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen. According to Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Manchester United are open to parting ways with the 31-year-old if a suitable offer is received.
Christian Eriksen May Be Out Of Manchester United
Eriksen’s future at Old Trafford has become uncertain following his reduced role under Amorim.
Initially a regular starter earlier this season, Eriksen contributed four goals and three assists in his first 13 appearances, stepping up during injuries to Kobbie Mainoo and Mason Mount.
However, since Amorim’s arrival, Christian Eriksen has fallen out of favour. Despite being fit, he has not played a single minute in the last four matches, relegated to the bench as an unused substitute.
The Denmark international once hailed as a creative maestro with the ability to dictate games and score vital goals appears to no longer fit Amorim’s tactical vision.
The Portuguese manager prefers robust, high-energy midfielders capable of dominating physically and controlling matches, attributes Eriksen has struggled to provide consistently.
With his contract expiring at the end of the season, United may look to cash in on Eriksen during the winter transfer window. The club would likely accept a nominal fee while saving a portion of his £150,000-a-week wages to invest in new signings.
Eriksen’s departure could mark the end of an era at Old Trafford, as Amorim reshapes the squad to better align with his vision for the club.
