Marcus Rashford of Manchester United is rumoured to be linked with Borussia Dortmund as the German team intensifies its pursuit of him following his relegation to the bench at Old Trafford.

As reported by AS journalist Florian Plettenberg, both Dortmund manager Nuri Sahin and sporting director Sebastian Kehl are keen on signing the 27-year-old.

The club has shown interest in Rashford amid a series of losses, including a loss to Bayer Leverkusen at Signal Iduna Park and a shocking loss to Holstein Kiel.

Dortmund, at the moment sitting five points behind fourth-placed RB Leipzig, they are keen to add to their team to keep the dream of Champions League football alive.

The latest departure of Donyell Malen to Aston Villa has pointed out that Dortmund is in desperate search of firepower.

AC Milan And Barcelona Are Also In The Race To Sign Marcus Rashford

Even AC Milan and Barcelona are also looking forward to Rashford and his current scenario. But both clubs have barriers in their way throughout the process.

These resources are still restricted in the financial sense as Barcelona, and though signing Rashford may seem possible, it isn’t so much given that the central defender, Ronald Araujo, spurned a move to the Premier League club.

Nevertheless, AC Milan showed interest in the player, especially after they missed out on Randal Kolo Muani who joined Juventus recently, but they’ll only go for him if the terms of the deal suit their financial prospects.

Rashford, who started his football journey with United, has found himself sparingly used in the current campaign.

He has not played at all since a Europa League game against Viktoria Plzen and has only been included in the matchday squad once since. In United’s third come-from-behind 3 – 1 victory over Southampton on Thursday, his absence was truly felt.

Newspapers claimed that Rashford had a fallout with the manager Ruben Amorim and this row seems rather unfixable. United are tipped to look at a January option for Rashford in the form of a loan deal but his long-term future may only be decided in the summer.

Getting Rashford could be a huge value addition for Dortmund, especially in their endeavour for a return to the Champions League next season, but here again, the competition is cut-throat in this transfer race.
