Barcelona football club seems to have made a final decision on whom to pick as a long term replacement for injured Barcelona number one goal keeper Marc-André ter Stegen.
Barcelona made the decision to bring in Wojciech Szczesny, who they see as a perfect replacement for the injured shot shot stopper, who will be out of action for a lengthy period of time.
Although the transfer window has closed, Barcelona can still be able to sign a free agent. Wojciech Szczesny retired from professional football in August after the 2023/2024 season with Juventus.
Wojciech Szczesny is willing to come out of retirement to replace injured Ter Stegen in Barcelona, and Wojciech Szczesny’s agents have been contacted.
Barcelona have a list of other goal keeper options lined up as potential replacements, the likes of former Real Madrid shot stopper Keylor Navas have been mentioned as a replacement.
Other potential replacements include former Barcelona and Manchester city goal keeper Claudio Bravo, Loris Karius, Edgar Badia Jordi Masip and Tomas Vaclik.
Ter Stegen picked up an injury which seems to be quite serious, during a Laliga match between Barcelona and Villarreal, where he completely ruptured the patella tendon in his right knee.
Although Ter Stegen has undergone a successful surgery, he will still be away from any football action for up to 8 months, which is almost the entirety of the season.
