Daniel Muñoz Transfer News

Barcelona have reportedly submitted a formal proposal worth around €30 million to sign Crystal Palace right-back Daniel Muñoz, according to Fichajes.

With Hansi Flick overseeing the sporting project and Deco leading transfer operations, the Catalan giants are making a strong push to reinforce their right flank ahead of 2026.

Muñoz has emerged as a key target due to his balance of defensive reliability and attacking drive — qualities that Flick considers essential for his system.

Since arriving from Genk in 2023, the Colombian international has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most consistent full-backs, impressing with his energy, tactical intelligence, and work rate.

Financial challenges and Palace’s stance on Daniel Muñoz

Barcelona are moving cautiously, aware of La Liga’s strict 1:1 financial rule that requires them to match any spending with equivalent revenue.

Club sources suggest they are exploring ways to structure the deal through instalments or player swaps to remain compliant.

Crystal Palace, however, are under no pressure to sell. Muñoz is tied to the London club until 2028, giving them strong leverage in negotiations.

Palace have made it clear that only a “concrete and satisfactory” proposal will be considered, with €30 million seen merely as the starting point.

Why Barcelona want Muñoz

Flick’s main objective is to secure a dependable full-back who can contribute on both ends of the pitch.

Since the departure of key right-backs in recent seasons, Barcelona have struggled for stability in the role.

Muñoz’s proven record in England and his adaptability make him a prime candidate to solve that long-term issue.

The player himself has previously expressed admiration for Barcelona, which could help facilitate the move if financial hurdles are overcome.

Still, given Palace’s firm stance and Barça’s delicate budget, negotiations are expected to be complex and could extend deep into the winter window.
