Daniel Muñoz Transfer News

Barcelona are considering a move for Crystal Palace right-back Daniel Muñoz as they look to strengthen their defense following Iñigo Martínez’s departure.

The 29-year-old Colombian has become one of the Premier League’s most consistent full-backs since joining Palace in early 2024, earning praise for his tireless work rate, overlapping runs, and defensive discipline.

According to Fichajes, Crystal Palace are reluctant to sell and would only open talks if an offer of around €30 million arrives.

Muñoz’s contract runs until June 2028, putting the English club in a strong negotiating position. For Barcelona, that price could be a stretch given their ongoing financial constraints.

A tempting but costly move

Muñoz has long admired Barcelona, describing the Catalan side as his childhood club—a sentiment that could influence his decision if formal talks begin.

His attacking energy and Premier League experience make him a strong fit for Xavi’s system, especially given his ability to contribute both defensively and offensively.

However, Barcelona already have Jules Kounde performing well on the right, with Eric García showing renewed confidence. Spending €30 million on another defender might not be the most practical move at this stage.

The final decision will depend on whether the club prioritizes experience over financial caution. There’s no doubt about Muñoz’s quality—but for Barcelona, affordability may ultimately decide if admiration turns into action.
