Barcelona is still struggling financially, and new information from Mundo Deportivo implies Dani Olmo may be sold already, only after half a year at the club.
Although he shot to prominence as quick as possible at Camp Nou, the club also has a problem to re-register the 26-year-old for the second half of the campaign.
That failure messes up a clause in his contract, which essentially gives him the green light to go as a free agent.
His arrival from RB Leipzig for a total package of around £51 million has made him an instant regular under the current Barcelona manager Hansi Flick.
For the Spanish international, the lad has managed to score 6 goals in 12 matches demonstrating the importance of an exclusive playmaker in the midfield.
But his first registration was only valid up to half a year, thanks to a space created by Andreas Christensen’s lengthy absence due to Injury. But, with that period close to expiring, Barça urgently needs to act fast.
Barcelona Struggling To Register Dani Olmo Due To Financial Constraints
The financial problems have again put the club in the terrible state they had been in before. Although it is said that Olmo is “living his dream” with Barcelona, the wording of the clause in the player contract adds to the issue.
If Barcelona does not register him in January transfer window, they stand to see the player leave on free, the player they competed big to sign and one they invested huge amounts on
Blaugrana fans will be expecting an answer, especially because of Olmo’s both professional and in-field devotion. Barcelona, for their part, are said to be making preparations that could see them increase their financial base with a view of keeping their precious jewel.
However, reports came out that Barcelona is finalizing negotiations to activate a new lever that will report an income close to around €200M. This will allow the club to register Dani Olmo & as well as operate under the 1:1 rule.
The coming weeks are likely to be decisive for Olmo and the team, the pressure is high to guarantee his place in the squad.
