Clement Lenglet Transfer News

Clement Lenglet Saga: FC Barcelona has enormous hardships prevalent this January transfer window as it attempts to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.

That said, as other clubs plan their next steps, a familiar face has again popped up in transfer talk—Clement Lenglet.

Lenglet is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid with the Frenchman seeming to adapt to the coaching style of Diego Simeone.

The 29-year-old Frenchman was never able to fully prove himself to Barça supporters during his time at Camp Nou but has since been excelling under Simeone’s system.

He has been consistent season in and season out and has managed to nail a starting position for the Madrid-based club, a role few would have envisioned for him.

Media outlet Fichajes stated that Atletico Madrid Likened to Clement Lenglet so much that they are planning on bringing his loan spell permanent.

The club is thus prepared to pay between €800,000 and €1,000,000 for the Frenchman, thus kicking off possible discussions with Barcelona.

This could not have come at a better time for Barcelona as they look to rebuild a squad that struggled for much of last season. The club has been eager to reduce Lenglet’s wages, which were inherited from the Bartomeu presidency, and they have sought every opportunity to achieve this.

Clement Lenglet Had Gone For Loan For 3 Seasons

The former Barcelona president offered Clement Lenglet a bloated contract that has turned into a symbol of the corruption and financial illiteracy in Barcelona at the moment.

However, even with the best of planning, Barcelona has only been able to agree on consecutive loan deals for Lenglet in the last three seasons.

Now, with interest from Atletico Madrid, the Blaugrana have a chance to sell him on permanently, hence the move. Considering the stressful financial situation of the club, they will most definitely let anyone offer them a solution to erase his wages off the list.

While the possible transfer fee may not be groundbreaking, this move could give Barcelona some much-needed breathing room as they navigate their financial challenges.

In the coming weeks, we’ll see if the managers from Atletico Madrid and Barcelona can come to a solid agreement. In the meantime, it’s great to see Clement Lenglet getting his career back on track at his new home with Atletico Madrid!
