Arsenal are said to be coming back to push for Benjamin Sesko again as uncertainties over the two other targets, Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyökeres, arise.
Arsenal, who never ruled out signing Benjamin Sesko before the start of this season could revisit their interest in the Slovenian forward when the transfer window reopens.
Benjamin Sesko, aged 21 years, reportedly wanted to stay longer at Leipzig last summer, he feared he will not get many matches at Arsenal.
He was reluctant of being pushed to the bench for Kai Havertz because the latter had an impressive performance during the last months which strengthened his place in Mikel Arteta’s strategy.
However, Arsenal are eager on the said striker, who ultimately transforms into a powerful prospective player for the team.
Others proposed for Arsenal includes Newcastle’s Isak and Sporting CP’s Gyökeres but seem the duo seem impossible.
Benjamin Sesko Will Suit Arteta’s Plan
Arsenal is said to have some apprehensions about signing Gyökeres mainly because the player will be 27 in June and issues fixed on Isak’s recent history of injury problems that may be compounded by the Gunners’ demanding pressing style of play.
Benjamin Sesko looks like he fits the description. He is still only 21, but he has proved it already, netting 18 goals and assisting two goals in his first season at Leipzig.
This season has not been different as he has scored 10 goals and provided 3 assists in all the matches. Due to his finishing ability or his ability to switch between wings, he is marketable.
However, Benjamin Sesko has a better goal conversion rate; he has scored five goals from 25 shots compared to Havertz’s 3 goal score from 21 shot attempts.
His physicality, and high pressing also suit Arteta’s tactics in terms of the physicality of the player and his pressing style of play.
In addition, the attribute of his taking wide shots successfully with both feet as well as having the capacity to unleash great power in his shots as seen by everyone makes him equal to the great strikers that exist in the Europe market.
Transfermarkt rates him at £41.5m, but Leipzig will want a lot more than that for their midfielder.
Signing Benjamin Sesko will not be cheap, but with his talent and age, the Slovenian star could be the game-changer for Arsenal.
