Alphonso Davies, Manchester United target

Alphonso Davies is at the centre of an intense transfer battle involving three European power houses: FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

Despite his current deal at Bayern running out in June 30, 2025, the Canadian talent can walk away as a free agent if no renewal is made.

Although direct competition remains high, Bayern Munich wants to retain the first-choice left-back. The German giants are in the process of ensuring that the needed changes are made to ensure that Alphonso Davies remains at the club for a long time, with indications that he is an important player in the team.

But Real Madrid over the years regarded as favorites of the next generation players, now have their sights set firmly on the 24-year old.

Real Madrid May Opt Out Of Alphonso Davies Signing

Recent developments suggest that Real Madrid may be reassessing their interest in the player. According to sources from Cadena SER relayed to SPORT, there have been increasing concerns within Spanish circles regarding Davies and his hesitance to reach an agreement.

The club has not received clear signals of intent from him or his representatives, leading them to consider whether continued pursuit is beneficial. If there isn’t significant progress by January next year, Real Madrid may decide to shift their focus elsewhere.

Such a move could create a precedent for Barcelona to make their move. The Catalan giants are regarded as genuinely interested in Davies, relying on the good relationship with Hansi Flick to secure the move to Camp Nou.

Flick, who has previously managed Davies, sees a diverse left-back as an important signing, which will make Barcelona even stronger.

However, a challenge is here in sight – Barcelona’s financial troubles make it complicated. The club’s strict salary cap remains a stumbling block, and any potential deal hinges on their ability to return to the 1:1 spending rule. If they can overcome this as a financial constraint shortly then perhaps the operation becomes possible.

On the other hand, Bayern Munich is not relishing in this situation and is putting pressure on Davies to make up his mind on the issue, there is not much time for dealing with many negotiations.
