Current Saudi Pro League holders Al Hilal are said to be working on a possible bumper bid to lure Mohamed Salah away from Liverpool when he is out of contract in the last six months.
Anfield still has Salah who is 32; however, the prospect of the player’s future is much-discussed. Negotiations between Salah and Liverpool’s management continue, with the English club keen to keep their record-breaking star.
But according to Sky Sports, Al Hilal has put itself in place to entice Salah with a big money deal as the pressure on Liverpool to tie him down increases.
There has been speculation surrounding Salah over the last 18 months, and the rumour hit new heights when flamboyant Saudi sports personality Turki Alalshikh posted an image of a figure resembling Salah clad in an Al Hilal strip.
The switch could see Salah act as Neymar’s stand-in after the Brazilian’s long-term knee ligament issues raised questions over his future.
Mohamed Salah Is Being Reluctant To Sign New Contract
What is more, Liverpool could already be eyeing life after Mohamed Salah. Even so, Sky Sports Italy has named Mbeumo, a Brentford winger, as one of the potential candidates to take the breather at the right wing in place of Salah.
The 25-year-old has stood out this season even with Brentford struggling to find form; he has scored 13 goals in all competitions.
Brentford and Newcastle United are also interested in Mbeumo, but Frank, who is the manager of Brentford, has ruled out the January transfer as there is no way he is going to leave the team.
Ahead of Brentford’s Premier League fixture against Liverpool this weekend, Frank quickly dismissed the rumour,r, stating that Mbeumo is still the player he needs. Basically, “He’s going nowhere,” Frank was quick to assert.
Salah could leave for another club, and beginning with Al Hilal, the Saudi Pro League is making a strong push to become a force to be reckoned with in world football.
For now, Liverpool faces a crucial decision: either continue provoking Salah’s demands to remain in the club or else lose him to one of the most aspiring clubs in world soccer.
