Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister remains open to a future move to La Liga, even though he has affirmed his satisfaction with life at Liverpool for now.
The Argentine midfielder has been a sensational figure at Anfield, and has been a tremendous buy, not simply for his contribution but also for the price that Liverpool paid for him to buy him from Brighton.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder was an ever-present for Jürgen Klopp last season and has continued with the same performance under a new coach Arne Slot.
His being able to set the pace in the match, defend as well and chip in with vital goals, especially when they are needed, has made him an essential figure for the two teams, Liverpool and the Argentina national team.
Just like rumours which indicated he was on the radar of Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, Mac Allister signed a long-term deal at Liverpool, where he has penned down a contract till 2028.
It gives Liverpool a long-term security. However, recent utterances by the midfielder raise the possibility of a long-term desire to challenge for new pastures in Spain.
Is Alexis Mac Allister Eyeing La Liga Move?
Speaking to AS at Sport Witness, Mac Allister did not shy away from expressing his appreciation for La Liga:
‘Yes, why not?’ It is a country with which I have a certain sympathy and my travels include this country several times.
For now, the 25-year-old has his sights set on making another successful season for Liverpool. Mac Allister’s Liverpool team are the current Premier League leaders by four points and topping the Champions League group.
His performances are still being eyed by the top clubs in Europe.
A long-term goal of Mac Allister could well see the player ending up in Spain, but the thinking at Liverpool is not for the future.
Contract renewals of important players are still open, for all three important players on the team; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, and Mohamed Salah, are all in the final months of their contracts.
At the weekend, reports said Liverpool has put forward offers to the three players, indicating the club’s intention to retain its key men.
For now, Mac Allister is an established player with the Reds preparing for a potential stellar season for both the Premier League and the European competitions.
