Liverpool’s popular right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is currently the focus of the transfer buzz given his current contract that will expiring in June 2025.

As for this, Liverpool is already reportedly trying to renegotiate the new deal and extend Alexander-Arnold’s contract, which will expire in June 2025. It was reported that the club proposed a contract of £420,000 per week that will make him the highest paid player in the English Premier League.

A new twist has however emerged with Manchester City joining the bidding war and showing an interest in Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Premier League champions are reported to have held informal talks with the player’s agents as they consider him for a long-term replacement for Kyle Walker.

This has raised a new issue that may not have been apparent earlier, and that is it would be quite a leap to go to work for a straight competitor.
