PSG Eyes Sensational January Move For Victor Osimhen

Paris Saint-Germain is said to be eyeing Galatasaray’s impressive attacker Victor Osimhen as the January transfer window approaches for the next big move up for Ligue 1 giants.

The Nigerian forward currently playing for Galatasaray on loan from Napoli moved the side to the top of Süper Lig and is a key figure behind the team’s impressive performance in the Europa League.

Victor Osimhen Has Been Impressive At Galatasaray

Osimhen has been fantastic for the Turkish side operating for the Istanbul club and has been a decisive force through goals and valuable assists.

That has rekindled PSG’s interest in him after initially coming to their attention in the 2022-2023 season when he inspired Napoli to their first Serie A triumph in 33 years.

The French club was said to have tabled €100m for the striker in the previous year, but Napoli rejected the offer, while expecting more than that amount.

PSG’s interest was again sparked this summer while looking for a player to fill in for Kylian Mbappé who was already Real Madrid bound, on a free transfer.

But Napoli had some high demands again which compelled the Parisian side to look for other alternatives.

Now PSG is experiencing a somewhat unstable season in Europe although they have remained unbeaten in the French league they have no steadfast attackers who could score routinely.

There is rumor from French journalist Daniel Riolo that PSG manager Luis Enrique knows that Osimhen is the right player to get PSG going again in the Champions League.

The team has won only one out of five group stage matches, and thus their chances are rather bleak at the knockout stages.

However, PSG which is a club known to possess alot of money but persuading Napoli to sell their player in the middle of the season will definitely not be an easy task.

You will recall that Napoli Director Mauro Meluso had said that Victor Osimhen will only leave Galatasaray for the right price in the January transfer.

The Turkish club still insists on holding on to the player till the break, and Osimhen himself has not hidden his intentions of staying in Istanbul till the end of the season.

PSG is expected to put pressure on Napoli next month during the January transfer window with a real offer, although Osimhen may not be impressed by Paris, because it all boils down to the player’s preference.

This forthcoming winter transfer market maybe defined by a possible incoming transfer and reinforcements in the PSG team and also the increasing value of Osimhen whom we might get to see make a shock transfer move to Paris.
