The Manchester United hierarchy are considering the appointment of  club legend Ruud Van Nistelrooy in an interim position of manager, in the event that current manager Erik ten Hag is sacked as coach.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy who joined Manchester United in the capacity as assistant manager in the summer, after a superb career as a striker for Manchester United, might be given the green light of Erik ten Hag is been axed out of his current position.

Van Nistelrooy who was former coach of Eredivisie side PSV, and also impressed in charge of PSV as first-team coach, had a 34 wins in 50 games at PSV, and also led PSV to the KNVB Cup, before leaving in May 2023.

Erik ten Hag who is coming under very intense pressure from the Manchester United board and fans alike, after just recently been handed a one year contract extension in the summer.

Manchester United have had a poor run of form since the beginning of the 2024/2025 football season with three loses and two wins in the opening six league games, and sitting in the 12th position on the league table.

Manchester United where recently beaten 3-0 by Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, 29th September 2024, after being reduced to 10 men after a Bruno Fernandes red card for a dangerous tackle on James Madison, which makes it the second time they where beaten with that scoreline, after being beaten with the same scoreline by Liverpool.

According to Sun Sports, Erik ten Hag will most likely have two games in charge of Manchester United to save his job, and if there is still no positive change in their results, then we will obviously be seeing Erik ten Hag leaving Manchester United, and United will have to fork out an estimated £17.5m if they are to sack Erik ten Hag.
