Joaquín Panichelli Transfer News

Chelsea are reportedly considering a move for Strasbourg striker Joaquín Panichelli as they continue to strengthen their attacking options.

According to reports from Spain, the Blues are monitoring the 21-year-old closely after his impressive start to life in Ligue 1.

The Argentine forward joined Strasbourg this summer after a standout campaign with Mirandés in Spain’s La Liga 2, where he scored 20 goals and added four assists in 40 matches.

Since arriving in France, he has hit the ground running, scoring seven goals in his first eight league appearances, including a memorable brace against Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes.

Chelsea have been impressed by Panichelli’s performances and could make a formal approach next summer. Given that both clubs share ownership under BlueCo, any deal would likely be straightforward to negotiate.

However, with the striker under contract until 2028, Chelsea would still need to invest a significant fee to bring him to Stamford Bridge.

Solving Chelsea’s Striker Problem

The Blues’ long-standing search for a consistent centre-forward continues. After struggling in recent years, they moved for João Pedro and Liam Delap during the summer transfer window.

But Delap’s recent hamstring injury has left Enzo Maresca short on options, forcing him to rely on Pedro as the lone striker.

Youngster Tyrique George has been given opportunities to support the attack, but he remains inexperienced at the top level.

Chelsea also secured a deal for Emanuel Emegha, who impressed at Strasbourg and is set to join the squad next season.

Strasbourg signed Panichelli to replace Emegha, yet his rapid rise has now caught the attention of the Chelsea hierarchy.

At 6ft 3in, Panichelli offers strength, aerial presence, and technical ability, making him an ideal fit for Maresca’s system.

Whether Chelsea decide to make a move remains to be seen, especially with Emegha already arriving next year and Pedro finding form.

For now, Panichelli’s emergence highlights the growing connection between Chelsea and their French affiliate — and the potential talent pipeline linking both clubs.
