Manchester United have reportedly joined Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign highly rated Nantes defender Tylel Tati, according to reports from Caught Offside.
The 17-year-old centre-back has been one of the standout young performers in Ligue 1 this season, drawing interest from several major European clubs following a string of impressive displays for the French side.
Rising Star in Ligue 1
Tati made his first-team debut for Nantes against Paris Saint-Germain in the opening game of the season, a bold introduction for the teenager against the French champions.
Since then, he has started six of Nantes’ seven league matches, earning praise for his composure and maturity beyond his years.
Standing at 6ft 3in, Tati is a left-footed central defender who is also comfortable operating as a fullback or even in defensive midfield when required.

His versatility and calmness in possession have made him one of the most talked-about young defenders in France.
Nantes currently value the youngster at around £5 million, and he still has three years left on his contract. However, that price could quickly rise if the competition for his signature intensifies.
Premier League Trio Among Interested Clubs
Manchester United have sent scouts to closely monitor Tati’s performances as they look to strengthen their defensive options.
Injuries to Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martínez have exposed a lack of depth on the left side of defence, and the club sees Tati as a long-term solution who could be developed gradually under Ruben Amorim.
Liverpool are also seriously considering the young defender, with plans to identify a long-term successor for Virgil van Dijk.
The Dutchman turns 35 next year, and Tati’s profile as a strong, intelligent, left-sided defender fits perfectly into Jurgen Klopp’s evolving backline plans.
Meanwhile, Arsenal remain in the mix but are not seen as frontrunners. Mikel Arteta’s side already boast a deep defensive roster, and Tati’s development could stall without guaranteed playing time in north London.
European Interest Extends Beyond England
It’s not just Premier League clubs keeping tabs on Tati. Barcelona, RB Leipzig, and Bayer Leverkusen have also expressed interest, with scouts from Spain and Germany reportedly attending Nantes matches this season.
Brighton, Aston Villa, Brentford, and Tottenham Hotspur are among other English clubs believed to be monitoring his situation as well, highlighting the broad appeal of the young Frenchman’s talent.
A Future Star in Demand
Nantes manager Luis Castro is keen to keep hold of his rising star for at least another season, but the club’s position could be tested if one of Europe’s elite makes a concrete offer in January.
For Tati, the decision will come down to where he can best develop and play regularly.
Whether that future lies in France or abroad remains to be seen, but what’s clear is that the 17-year-old has already caught the attention of Europe’s biggest clubs — and a major move could be just around the corner.
