Arsenal and Manchester City are reportedly keeping a close watch on Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery, whose future in the French capital has become increasingly uncertain under Luis Enrique.
The 19-year-old academy graduate has been one of PSG’s most exciting homegrown prospects, breaking into the first team in 2022 and going on to make 138 senior appearances.
Last season, he was instrumental in helping the club secure both the Ligue 1 title and the Champions League, underlining his rapid rise to prominence in European football.
Warren Zaire-Emery Uncertain Future in Paris
Despite his status as one of the brightest talents in France, Zaire-Emery’s role at PSG appears to be diminishing this season.
He has made just four Ligue 1 starts and logged 125 minutes in the Champions League — a noticeable drop from the pivotal role he enjoyed last year.
According to Caught Offside, this dip in involvement has triggered speculation about a possible departure, with Arsenal and Manchester City among the clubs on alert.

The report claims that PSG could be open to letting the teenager leave for around €80 million (£69.6m), especially if he expresses frustration over limited playing time.
Arsenal’s Position and Arteta’s Midfield Depth
For Arsenal, a move for Zaire-Emery seems less likely at this stage. Mikel Arteta already boasts an impressive array of midfield talent in Declan Rice, Martin Zubimendi, Mikel Merino, and Christian Norgaard — all of whom offer a mix of youth, control, and versatility.
While Zaire-Emery fits the Gunners’ model of signing technically gifted young players, adding another midfielder in that mould may not be a priority unless there are departures next summer.
Guardiola’s City Could Be a Better Fit
Manchester City, however, could present a more appealing project for the French youngster. Pep Guardiola has long sought to refresh his midfield with young, intelligent, and press-resistant players — traits Zaire-Emery possesses in abundance.
With Mateo Kovacic’s future uncertain and Kalvin Phillips likely to depart, City may view Zaire-Emery as an ideal long-term successor to Rodri or a versatile addition capable of operating in multiple roles.
City’s Broader Midfield Targets
City’s interest in midfield reinforcements doesn’t stop there. The Premier League champions have been linked with Bayern Munich’s Aleksandar Pavlovic, who has impressed under Vincent Kompany’s stewardship this season.
Reports suggest City are willing to bid around €50 million (£43.49m) for the 21-year-old, though Bayern are reluctant to sell.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton — one of the breakout stars of the current campaign — also remains on City’s radar as they look to build the next generation of their midfield core.
The Road Ahead
For now, PSG remain hopeful of keeping Zaire-Emery, but with Arsenal and City both circling, his future could hinge on how Luis Enrique manages his development in the months ahead. Should the youngster push for a move, England’s elite could soon be battling for one of Europe’s most complete young midfielders.
