Tyrell Malacia Transfer News

Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Turkish side Eyüpspor for the loan transfer of defender Tyrell Malacia.

The Dutch international has struggled to establish himself at Old Trafford, and with the Super Lig transfer window still open until September 12, he is now expected to make a late move away.

Tyrell Malacia struggles at United

Signed from Feyenoord in 2022 for around £13 million, Malacia initially looked like a promising addition under Erik ten Hag, making 39 appearances in his debut season.

However, injuries and inconsistent form derailed his progress, limiting him to just four outings last term before being sent out on loan to PSV in January.

On his return this summer, the 26-year-old found himself surplus to requirements.

Alongside Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho, he was told to train away from the first-team group, with all four of those attackers later sealing exits before the English deadline.

Turkish switch lined up

A move to La Liga outfit Elche was explored on deadline day, but collapsed late on over disagreements about a permanent clause in the deal.

Now, Eyüpspor have stepped in and reached an agreement with United for a straight loan deal, according to journalist Reşat Can Özbudak. Final approval from the Turkish club is expected soon.

Onana also heading to Turkey

Malacia may not be the only United player making the move to the Super Lig. Goalkeeper André Onana has already agreed to join Trabzonspor on a season-long loan after losing his No.1 spot to Altay Bayındır.

The Cameroonian’s departure follows several high-profile exits from Old Trafford this summer, as United continue reshaping their squad under Ruben Amorim.

If confirmed, Malacia’s move to Eyüpspor would give him a fresh chance to revive his career, with regular minutes in Turkey potentially key to rebuilding his confidence after a frustrating spell in Manchester.
