Jonathan David Transfer News

West Ham’s intentions to sign Lille forward and Canadian international Jonathan David this summer are supported by The Guardian.

The Sun reported that West Ham United showed interest in securing Southampton centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis as a solution to their defence problems.

West Ham United find themselves in the 16th position of the Premier League as the season progresses without satisfactory outcomes which puts pressure on manager Graham Potter to secure key position upgrades.

West Ham Need Jonathan David

The football club faces an urgent need for centre-back and centre-forward players simultaneously as the acquisition of David, along with defensive improving personnel, might lead to a definitive turnaround.

Last summer, West Ham attempted to sign Jonathan David from Lille, but negotiations stopped due to their expected high price tag.

Lille’s decision to let David move without a transfer fee makes him an attractive proposition because the attacking midfielder turned 25 during his successful five-season spell with Lille where he netted 104 times.

West Ham faces competition from Inter Milan and Juventus for securing the services of the Canadian international David.

The West Ham manager Potter continues to look for permanent additions to his squad because Ferguson’s transfer to the club appears uncertain for this summer.

Jonathan David stands as an excellent candidate for this recruitment situation. The Hammers need the combination of David’s speed with his attack skills to transform their goal output into a better attack performance.

The summer transfer window approaches while the Hammers organize their defence along with offence improvements to achieve better league placement and a revival of their season.
