Victor Boniface Transfer News

Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr decided to end their pursuit of Nigerian player Victor Boniface by acquiring Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran after switching targets.

Al Nassr purchased the Colombian forward Duran from Aston Villa for €77 million while ending their interest in Boniface.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Saudi Arabian representatives were situated in Germany to complete the deal with Bayer Leverkusen for Boniface’s transfer.

Al Nassr strayed from their originally planned agreement which left Boniface with an open-ended future.

Following their decision to target Duran, Aston Villa’sWhyad-based club finalized the deal with the English team. The player will accept personal terms tomorrow before undergoing his medical examination in London on Thursday.

Duran’s medical clearance will officially establish him in Al Nassr’s team which will include his new teammates Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mané along with Marcelo Brozovic and Aymeric Laporte.

What’s Next for Victor Boniface?

Leverkusen showed interest in trading Boniface for €50 million to Middle Eastern clubs before Al Nassr suddenly withdrew their offer.

Training was suspended for Boniface this week because he needed to undergo medical examinations that confirmed his pending transfer.

The sudden withdrawal of Al Nassr prompted the 24-year-old to redirect his attention toward Leverkusen’s duties. After extending his contract through 2029 as one of Leverkusen’s top-paid players he will need to demonstrate his performance quality to the Bundesliga audience.

Leverkusen experienced record-breaking success during Boniface’s first season making 34 appearances while running up 21 goals thanks to his 10 assists that secured double titles in Bundesliga along with German Cup victory.

Injuries have reduced his game time this season to 15 matches where he scored eight goals before he suffered an injury to his thigh in November 2024.

Before he returns to work alongside Xabi Alonso at Leverkusen Boniface will continue his training while staying in Germany to help the team maintain their Bundesliga title and advance in European cup matches.
