Manchester United on the Verge of Surprise Loan Exit for Struggling Star Antony

Man United have not registered any signings in the 2025 winter transfer window under Ruben Amorim, but the club continues to work on a possible loan move of Antony.

It is said that a La Liga side – Real Betis is in the advanced stage of pursuing a deal to capture the Brazilian starlet for the rest of the season on loan.

Expert in transfers Fabrizio Romano has disclosed that the two clubs are in the final stages of negotiations over the proposed deal.

Antony will be joined by the Red Devils in the second half of the 2024/25 season in Spain if Manchester United pays a quarter of the £200,000-a-week wages.

Most importantly, it is reported that the deal is exempted from the option of purchasing; hence, it must be a pure loan. There is said to be a verbal pact, and the deal may be done soon after United’s next Premier League game with Brighton.

What Went Wrong For Antony?

Antony joined Manchester United in the past January transfer window from Ajax for a record amount and has come to be defined as a failure in England.

The Brazilian has failed to represent his expensive price tag, and he’s only contributed five goals and three assists in his 61 Premier League appearances.

This current season has not been any better for him as he has only managed to score one goal, a Carabao Cup goal, specifically to be against Barnsley.

Amorim has restricted Antony’s minutes, culminating in the last weeks he only started as a sub. The new manager has only started him in two games since he has been at the helm of affairs, and the winger has been very poor, which has fueled rumours about his potential departure.

As United look to build a new look team in the coming transfer windows to accommodate any future targets, the loan move of Antony makes perfect sense for all the parties involved.

As a result, Real Betis may become the perfect fit for Antony since it will have a chance to return to the form that allowed him to become one of the most promising players of his generation during previous seasons.
