Milos Kerkez, Manchester United target

Manchester United is currently facing a massive challenge in terms of needing to fill positions in their starting lineup, none more highlighted than the left wing-back position, where a rash of injuries to natural options has hit the Red Devils hard.

This situation has resulted in Diogo Dalot being played out of position. Despite his efforts, the Portuguese right-back has struggled with the angles encountered when playing as a left-back.

A specific player that United have sought out to strengthen this role is the Bournemouth young defender Milos Kerkez. However, the sources are cynical with this intention to sign the Hungarian star as Liverpool is likely to clinch his deal.

There are likely to be further reports by iNews that Liverpool are nearing a deal for Kerkez from Bournemouth.

Liverpool Is Leading To Sign Milos Kerkez

The 21-year-old has specifically named the Merseyside club as his preferred destination and that has dropped Manchester United’s chances enormously.

This can be attributed to Liverpool’s much improved competitive advantage and Kerkez’s potential teammate in Anfield, Hungarian international, Dominik Szoboszlai.

Kerkez is still relatively young at just 21 and will be considered as a long-term option to replace Andy Robertson who personally has had a bad campaign.

Bournemouth are likely to ask for a £50 million fee to let go of their talented defender. Since United and Liverpool are interested in signing Kerkez, Bournemouth seem to be in the driver’s seat.

Of course, Kerkez’s signing would even be an improvement in terms of strengthening and deepening for Manchester United because the player has the potential to become a strong and versatile performer on the left side of the field.

But with Liverpool seemingly leading the race, United needs to turn its attention fast to back-up options if it is to add more strength to this key position.

The problem is to sign a player who complies with the technical and tactical profile but also shall be a perfect fit for Ruben Amorim and his plans for the team.
