Khvicha Kvaratskhelia Transfer News

It seems that Liverpool’s chase of the Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is over as the Georgian international is said to be close to joining Paris Saint-Germain.

The 23-year-old, a recent hit in Serie A, has disclosed to Napoli’s manager, Antonio Conte, his intention to leave Napoli this January transfer window, thus provoking more controversy regarding his plans.

PSG, who earlier failed in their bid to sign Kvaratskhelia in August at the close of the last transfer window, are preparing themselves to be successful this time.

Italian transfer news journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that the player’s negotiators have accepted all personal terms of the player such as a new salary of four to five times his present wage.

Kvaratskhelia, who is yet to receive any raise for the terms he signed when joining Napoli from Dinamo Batumi in 2022, is expected to earn greatly more when moving to Paris.

Conte was not ready to let the Georgian star go when the transfer window was open in the summer, but the Italian tactician has now stated that Kvaratskhelia is desperate to go.

He asked the club to be sold, without mincing his words. This is what was said to me, the player has confirmed his decision to me,” Conte said

At the same time, there have been obstacles to Liverpool’s transfer strategies. It has been claimed that the Reds turned down a recent approach for Bologna’s Dutch centre-back Sam Beukema.

Manager Arne Slot has shown interest in the 26-year-old after having failed to sign him when he was at Feyenoord. But Bologna left no doubt that at least one significant figure in the incoming transfer window will not leave.

Though Liverpool may soon be back for Beukema, for now, they might look for other targets as Kvaratskhelia is gone already.
