It is believed that the new contender to capture the services of the Uruguay star, Ronald Araujo is Arsenal since the discussion about the Barcelona powerhouse’s future heats up during the transfer period.
Araujo was struggling with injuries at the beginning of the season but has regained his fitness now. However, the indications are that he will move from Camp Nou soon.
The 25-year-old Uruguayan international has been a vital player for the Blaugrana when fully fit and has been relatively unflappable in high-stakes games.
His last displayed performances have not failed to draw the attention of several top clubs within the European continent.
Arsenal and Juventus Will Go Head to Head For Ronald Araujo
Arsenal are now reportedly interested in Araujo, with Mundo Deportivo claiming that the club wants to strengthen its defence vastly.
Juventus is said to have targeted Araujo and is preparing the groundwork to sign him. However, Arsenal seems not to be deterred by this reality and that the club considers this a chance worth taking.
The addition of Araujo to Arsenal’s squad will be perfect for the second half of the season as Mikel Arteta plans to strengthen his team.
In addition to basic defensive skills, Araujo brings several positive character traits to the table. He would be an ideal signing for Arsenal; he is naturally very composed, a strong physical player, and a good organizer.
Arteta has built a great team, and they have already begun to compete for all the available accolades in the English League. Araujo is the type of player that may take the side to further heights in the competitions Arsenal are in.
Juventus may well be slightly more in a position of strength when it comes to negotiating but Arsenal has just as much interest. Arsenal has been willing to go head-to-head with the best teams for the best young talent, and attaining Araujo’s services would be a great achievement.
The last few weeks could be determined, though, if Barcelona is indeed willing to part ways with him before the window shuts.
Actions indeed speak louder, and any delay of either of the teams regarding the deal could lead Araujo to either proceed with the Arsenal move or choose to establish himself at another European giant.
