Ronald Araujo Transfer News

Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo is considered to be a target for Juventus, with their intent on bolstering its defence in the January transfer market.

Cristiano Giuntoli, the Sporting Director, expressed his desire to prepare Manager Thiago Motta’s defence to manage the ongoing injuries of players and the upcoming departures of players.

At the back, they are facing major issues within the fold of the Juventus football club. Bremer and Juan Cabal are out for the long season, and Danilo can be sold in January since his contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

These factors have further raised the necessity of getting at least one if not many, defence player this month.

As much as Feyenoord’s David Hancko stands to be their primary target, with a €30 million price tag considered optimal, Juventus is still looking for other options to guarantee versatility in the midfield. Now, Araujo is also among them, as La Gazzetta dello Sport has reported recently.

Juventus Interest Increases because of Ronald Araujo Limited Role at Barcelona

The 25-year-old Uruguayan international has played sparingly this season because of a major hamstring injury that he suffered earlier this year and that cost him between the start of the season and the middle of December.

Araujo returned and played the recent game of Barcelona in a 4-0 Copa del Rey away win at UD Barbastro early this month, prompting speculation over his position under Hansi Flick at Barcelona.

Ronald Araujo is eyed by Juventus as a possible target; the defender is encouraged to return to his previous form, with a chance to face more opportunities.

All things considered, the fact of Barcelona’s financial situation and Araujo’s virtually non-existent playing time during his tenure at the club due to injury, the move could well be in everyone’s best interest.

There is also another name listed for consideration, Kevin Danso, who is an Austrian defender who had earlier been rumoured to be headed to Roma.

The player’s experience in both domestic football and Serie A can only sway Juventus in a particular direction as they consider their options.

With the January window fast approaching, Juventus know they have to find a way to fix their defensive issues as they engage in tricky transfer business for the targeted players.

Whether Araujo will be able to wear the colours of black and white is, however, yet to be determined as a story worth watching in the coming weeks.
