Kaio Jorge Target News

West Ham United are eyeing a summer swoop for Cruzeiro striker Kaio Jorge, with reports in Brazil suggesting the London club are readying a £21m offer.

Rediscovering form in Brazil

Kaio Jorge, once one of Brazil’s brightest attacking prospects, initially struggled to make his mark in Europe after joining Juventus in 2021.

A series of loan spells, including a stint at Frosinone, failed to provide a breakthrough, and he eventually returned to Brazil with Cruzeiro.

Back on home soil, the 23-year-old has rediscovered his scoring touch.

This season, he has delivered 20 goal contributions in just 22 appearances, netting 15 goals to top the Brazilian Serie A scoring charts.

His sharp finishing, pace, and improved physicality have reignited European interest.

Why West Ham are interested

The Hammers are in the market for a new forward as they look to add firepower and long-term quality to their squad.

Kaio Jorge’s profile is appealing not just for his goalscoring form but also for his versatility.

A product of futsal, his technical ability allows him to play as a No. 9 or drop deeper into a creative No. 10 role, a style often compared to Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino.

Such tactical flexibility would give West Ham’s manager more options in attack, whether to pair him with another forward or use him as the focal point.

The key question: can he adapt?

The one lingering doubt is whether Kaio Jorge can adapt to the demands of European football after struggling during his first spell in Italy.

The Premier League’s physicality and pace pose a challenge, and West Ham will be wary of investing heavily without assurances he can replicate his Brazilian form in London.

Still, at £21m, the deal could represent value if Jorge fulfills his early promise.

With the Hammers pushing to return to European competition, the Brazilian could be the long-term striker solution they’ve been searching for.
