Fikayo Tomori Transfer News

Tottenham Hotspur is close to finalizing their significant defensive acquisition through a purchase of Fikayo Tomori from AC Milan ahead of the January transfer window closure.

Sky Sports and Gianluca Di Marzio confirm through their report that Tottenham offered €30 million to sign English centre-back Fikayo Tomori from AC Milan whose contract extends until 2027.

Journalist Daniele Longo has delivered one of the most recent reports on the transfer negotiations which now stand at a crucial point.

Chelsea academy graduate Tomori, aged 27, maintained his start in youth events, including two FA Youth Cup championships along with two UEFA Youth League titles. Tomori moved from Chelsea to Derby County and Brighton and Hull City before starting full-time duty with Chelsea during the 2019-20 season.

Fikayo Tomori: An Experienced Defender

AC Milan bought Tomori after his transfer to the club on loan in January 2021. His excellent play during the season led Milan to give him a permanent transfer in late summer, and he formed a robust defensive double with Pierre Kalulu, who helped secure the 2021-22 Serie A title.

Through his impressive displays, Tomori secured his placement in both the Serie A Team of the Year and regular Champions League action for AC Milan.

The Serie A player has started nine league matches as well as appeared in 21 matches during the current season, where he established himself as a speed-powered defensive threat with exceptional tactical skills, including backfield movement capability.

Manager Ange Postecoglou and Tottenham can benefit from his field experience. The arrival of Fikayo Tomori would immediately strengthen Spur’s defence but also serve as a strategic addition for the long term as their defence recovers from the absence of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.

Such a deal represents a major January acquisition for Tottenham in their pursuit of a top-four spot and championship trophy success.

The arrival of Tomori happened after Bayern Munich forward Mathys Tel refused to join Tottenham which further heightened the club’s transfer activity. Fans intensely await the official declaration showing Tomori will return to the Premier League while playing for Tottenham Hotspur.
