Raphinha remains highly sought after, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City showing keen interest in the Brazilian winger ahead of the mid-season transfer window.
Barcelona has been receiving offers from these clubs, but they have come out blunt, insisting that Raphinha is not for sale, which shows how much he is valued by the team.
Sources have claimed that these clubs have been in touch with intermediaries to contact Barcelona during the summer.
Their interest comes at a time of financial woes in regards to the squad at Barcelona including the registration of former summer signing Dani Olmo.
Barcelona’s problems are rooted in La Liga’s financial rules, which demand that they complete Olmo’s registration before December 31. Otherwise, it could trigger a clause which will enable Olmo to leave the club on a free transfer.
However, the club is positive that the new agreement with Nike, which is yet to be signed, will help to clear such financial problems and do away with the need to sell players such as Raphinha.
Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City Are All Chasing Raphinha
Raphinha’s performance this season only adds to Barcelona’s decision not to let him go. After his £55 million move from Leeds United, the 26-year-old has started performing like a club world-class footballer.
Raphinha has been one of the best players in Europe this season, directly contributing in 23 league games 18 goals and 8 assists.
The three teams in question — Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City — have seen him as a pivotal figure who could make a difference for his team in the process of battling for the title.
Even though Barcelona has not changed its mind about retaining Raphinha, the scenario may change if things are financially restricted as projected.
The next couple of weeks will decide whether the Brazilian talent continues to ply his trade in Catalonia or moves back to England and the Premier League.
