PSG and Barcelona Battle for Luis Diaz as Liverpool Contract Talks Stall

Luis Diaz, The Hot Cake: The lack of potency in the attack area has become synonymous with Paris Saint-Germain’s season, especially in the UEFA Champions League campaign under Luis Enrique.

As the team continues to lack strength in the attacking force, the transfer has started to resurface once more regarding the transfer of Luis Diaz, the versatile winger for Liverpool.

In January this year, there were speculations PSG were interested in Díaz. However, this link did not progress for long. Should the Parisians still be considering the need for an attacking forward, a repeat of the bid for the Colombian forward is believable.

Díaz is under an agreement with Liverpool till the end of the 2026/2027 season, and, although plans to sign a fresh deal seemed to be afoot recently, it appears those negotiations have broken down to open the door to a potential bidding war.

It appears the interest in Díaz has been aggressive with Barcelona and PSG already indicating they were willing to pay €80 million to sign the 27-year-old.

However, competition for him has also heated up given that AC Milan has also joined the race. Italian giants are said to be interested in signing Díaz as their major reinforcements to strengthen their attack.

The chase for Díaz has also started intensely for Barcelona, largely instigated by their sporting director Deco. The papers say that Díaz is upset with Liverpool for not showing any seriousness in providing him with a new contract which has left the transfer gossiping running rampantly.

Although Liverpool’s management, including Arne Slot, has recently said that Díaz is still in their plans for the future, the Colombian reportedly has received offers from both Barcelona and PSG to negotiate a transfer.

Although Díaz has been reported about his dreams of playing for the Barcelona team, Barcelona’s Financial difficulties, such as the registration saga that has seen them fail to register players such as Dani Olmo, make it difficult for the player to join the team.

On the other side Liverpool PSG supposedly is looking to offer € 60 million and including a player for them to first start negotiating. But Liverpool does not budge from its position, it does not seem to release Díaz at the moment.

The four European giants are all keen on Luis Diaz, his future is expected to be one of the biggest transfer tussles of the transfer window.
