Napoli has been linked with Federico Chiesa with Liverpool willing to let the Italian winger leave on a loan deal to Napoli for the rest of the season.
The Italian international signed with the Reds last summer from Juventus, but he has such limited playing chances at Anfield, and there were only four occasions where he featured, out of which only one was a start.
The enthusiast has not aged well at all, and concerns were raised about formality after e failed to play any match in the October – December footballing period.
His last appearance was in the EFL Cup third round when he was subbed in at halftime against Southampton before the holiday break, which appeared not to sit well with the Liverpool manager Arne Slot.
Federico Chiesa Has Had A Poor Of Form
Since the January transfer window has now opened, Slot is already reportedly willing to allow Chiesa to leave to look for more game time.
Federico Chiesa was recently on the receiving end of some advice from the Italy national team head coach, Luciano Spalletti, who urged the player to move back to Serie A to be in a position to reclaim his spot in the Italy national team.
This has made Napoli the favourite to land his signature, with Inter Milan and Fiorentina leading the chase for his signature. But a deal is only possible if Napoli and Liverpool come to terms on splitting Chiesa’s wages during the loan spell.
Some sources claim that Liverpool sees this move as a short-term one with the plan of coming back of Chiesa next year to join Slot in a more significant capacity.
Despite the failure of the player in the Premier League thus far the English side seems to still believe in him in the long term.
In terms of Chiesa, going back to Italy, Napoli could be precisely what a player needs to get back into the game and find some form and fitness again.
The transfer will probably continue raging on, as both clubs seek to find a solution to this problem.
