Manchester United Ready €100m Bid for Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo as Transfer Drama Unfolds

The sports site Fichajes reports that Manchester United plans to submit a whopping €100 million offer for Barcelona’s centre-back Ronald Araujo next summer.

Since 2018 the 25-year-old overseas defender joined FC Barcelona’s B-team after progressing to their senior squad by 2020.

Over the years Araujo has transformed into a powerful defensive pillar who now commands widespread admiration from former Barcelona captain Carles Puyol when he named the defender “one of the best defenders in the world” and Real Madrid’s Vinicius pronounced him among his toughest rivals.

During the first part of his 2022/23 season, Araujo suffered an injury which forced him to step aside from competitive play.

During Araujo’s injury absence, manager Hansi Flick changed the defensive setup by placing Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez in the playing team, which turned rumours of the Uruguayan leaving Barcelona.
