Manchester United have showed an interest for Bryan Mbeumo for the January transfer window to build up their team for the second half of the season is crucial.
However, the club has Financial Fair Play (FFP) issues, which make it extremely hard for the team to engage in any big signees.
The Fichajes revealed that United is planning a £45m bid for Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo, one of the emerging stars in the English top-flight this campaign.
This 25-year-old winger is in excellent form, having scored 13 league goals and provided 3 assists in 20 games. This impressive performance highlights Mbeumo’s value and worth in the current season.
What United is offering may be modest at the onset, but the club is believed to keep on bargaining up to the end of the month to be able to sign the Cameroonian international.
Previous in October, Football Insider released details highlighting that Brentford will only sell Mbeumo for £60 million; United may, therefore, have to offer more to stand a relative shot at signing the player.
Bryan Mbeumo Will Be A Good Addition To Manchester United
Mbeumo could well be the player that would add much-needed firepower to United’s forward line.
Though some fans have been thrilled with the performance of new signing Amad Diallo on the right side, Mbeumo, a player of equal or even higher value and reliability, will only make the club stronger and more diverse.
However, the fact that Brentford could be willing to let go of their best player mid-through the season remains a strong impediment.
Since the Bees are in their most competitive phase in many seasons, it will be rare for the club’s management to endorse such a sale under normal circumstances.
For Manchester United, the signature of Bryan Mbeumo would prove a strong statement to their intent of asserting the club’s willingness and readiness to fight in the premiership despite the equal financial restraints.
Whether they can persuade the Brentford club to part with their star player is yet to be seen. How do you view United’s interest in Mbeumo – good business strategy or a fight?
