Manchester United Intensify The Plot Move For Victor Osimhen In January

Manchester United are preparing for a January bid to sign Napoli’s Victor Osimhen who can be their potential target in the mid-season transfer market.

Osimhen, who is a player of Napoli, but spending a lovely time on loan at Galatasaray, and indeed making a great impact set in the Turkish league.

The Nigerian international has scored 10 goals and 5 assists in the Turkish super league. Nonetheless, a term in his loan agreement could facilitate his exit in January if clubs place their bid.

Napoli’s star striker had been rumored to be on the verge of a transfer away from the club last summer, but no deal was done.

However, due to this truth, the club was insecure and Galatasaray was able to sign him on a loan deal. But the reports from Il Mattino claim Manchester United are now favourites to sign Osimhen in January and Juventus together with PSG have shown interest also.

Ruben Amorim Is Keen On Victor Osimhen

According to the Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim, the club is most keen on strengthening their attacking options. Although, in the recent 3-2 loss to Nottingham Forest, Rasmus Højlund got on the scoresheet, and while Joshua Zirkzee also adds depth to this team, none has provided the consistent goal threat needed to push United to title-winning form. As with any young talents, Osimhen has not lacked for goals, scoring 76 goals in 133 matches for Napoli.

The potential move has left many wondering of United’s plans. Despite what Osimhen offers in terms of quality and experience up-front, there are problems with the squad.

The team’s inconsistency in form, problematic defence and poor midfield play makes one question whether acquiring star striker is enough solution.

Moreover, with Juventus and PSG around the corner in the future, signing of Osimhen is going to be a huge challenge. His market worth and popularity would open the doors for a bidding war and compel united to spend a lot of money to sign him.

Even though Osimhen’s signing would provide United with one of the most coveted signings which will surely turn the eyes of European football towards them.

It remains to be seen whether he would solve some of the issues United currently faces, as the team works towards clawing its way back from the abyss of ‘EPL top 6’ and towards the top teams of Europe.
