Ederson

Ederson has brought his Manchester City career to an end, sealing a move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce after eight hugely successful seasons at the Etihad Stadium.

The Brazilian goalkeeper departs with an extraordinary haul of 18 major trophies, including six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups and the club’s long-awaited Champions League triumph.

Since arriving from Benfica in 2017, Ederson established himself as a key figure in Pep Guardiola’s dominant City side.

His composure on the ball, long passing range, and ability to sweep behind the defence redefined the role of a goalkeeper in English football.

Alongside his silverware, the 31-year-old also claimed the Premier League Golden Glove on three occasions, underlining his consistency at the highest level.

Emotional farewell and new chapter for Ederson in Turkey

Speaking to Manchester City’s website, Ederson reflected warmly on his time in Manchester.

“I leave incredibly proud of what we have achieved together, and I am honoured to have worn the shirt so many times,” he said. “Under Pep, we have dominated the Premier League and conquered Europe. It has been amazing.”

His departure clears the way for a change in City’s goalkeeping department, with Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma expected to arrive from Paris Saint-Germain.

A fee in the region of €30 million (£25.9m) has been agreed, though the deal has yet to be officially announced.

For Ederson, the move to Fenerbahce marks the start of a new challenge after years at the pinnacle of European football.

For City, it represents the end of an era, with one of Guardiola’s most trusted lieutenants moving on after cementing his place in the club’s modern history.
