Omar Marmoush Transfer News

Manchester City is set to secure the signing of Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt. The 25-year-old has attracted interest from City and could be the third signing for the Premier League champions in the January transfer window.

City has already been active this month, with Lens defender Abdukodir Khusanov and Palmeira’s young talent Vitor Reis expected to join soon.

Khusanov, a 20-year-old Uzbekistan international, has concluded a €40 million deal but needs a work permit before joining Despay, while 19-year-old Reis has agreed to a deal that will be worth just under £30 million.

Man City Is Keen On Omar Marmoush

Negotiations surrounding Marmoush’s transaction have been lengthy. According to Ryan Taylor from The Mirror, the city’s sporting director, Txiki Begiristain, spoke with Eintracht Frankfurt on Monday and officially submitted a bid between £55 million and £59 million, including add-ons.

However, the Bundesliga club is reportedly insisting on a total deal package of £67.5 million.

City still believes January transfer is achievable, and its target is to seriously sign the player before a Bundesliga match between Frankfurt and Borussia Dortmund that will take place this coming Friday.

Frankfurt has agreed to consider extras, but only when there are clear targets for performance being attached.

If the transfer comes through, Marmoush could easily find himself being smoothly assimilated into Pep Guardiola’s team.

Even against the upcoming Ipswich Town match, this weekend may be too early, the Egyptian soccer star could well make his first appearance in a UEFA Champions League match or during high stakes against Chelsea.

Marmoush is a player capable of playing anywhere in the attack line, and that makes him an interesting addition to the team, which seeks an attacking reinforcement.

Should the deal go through, this will also prove that City is in advanced planning when it comes to the acquisition of talented and dynamic young players to ensure continuing domination in club football at the domestic and European levels.

Marmoush will certainly want to prove himself in the eyes of Guardiola as Manchester City extends its season in several competitions this year.
